Rick & Jenny Turner were initially attracted to Mudgee Valley's beauty. Their love for the land, their family and friends and a good lifestyle has lead to the makings of what is today Frog Rock Wines. They had a simple dream, to build a business around what they love doing most, enjoying time with family and friends over a good meal and a great glass of wine.
The Frog Rock Vineyards are situated 5 kms out of Mudgee Town on the Cassilis Rd. The age of the vines range from between 8 years to over 32 years old.
Mudgee is potentially becoming one of Australia's principal premium viticultural areas. The ancient soils are famous for their rich red and yellow sandy loams over clay underbase, this coupled with consistent sunlight hours and rainfall provide the perfect growing environment for premium quality fruit. The hot days and cool nights ensure the elegant structure and perfect harmony between acidity and sugar in the fruit.
Since 1970 the Frog Rock Vineyards have been feeding the appetites of some of Australia's largest wine producers.
"When we planted our first vines you could have counted the number of vineyards on the fingers of one hand, but, we had great faith in the district to produce premium quality definitive varietal table wines," says Rick.
